Benefits of solar power in Mexico

The cost of installing and generating your own energy in Mexico has declined significantly, we have reached a point where it is cheaper to generate electricity by photovoltaic technology means rather than to buy it from CFE. In Mexico and around the world the price of electricity has skyrocketed and will continue to rise in parallel with oil prices. With a solar panel system you will “freeze” the price of the electricity you consume over the lifetime of the PV solar system (40 years average).
What does this mean? We are now at a point where investment in a single solar panel in Mexico has a return on investment faster than ever. In the Mexican state of Baja California our customers with residential high tier rate are recovering their total investment in less than 4 years (with an average of between 4 and 5) as increases in electricity prices conservatively range between 6 and 9 % annually.

The Mexican Republic is considered one of the most promising countries in the field of solar photovoltaic’s as the European Association of Solar PV refers it, due to its high solar radiation (5.2 kWh / m2). Mexico receives high levels of solar radiation in most of its territory.
Now it is possible to establish a net energy metering program with CFE (contrato de interconexion a red) that allows users to generate their own electricity and receive a bonus for the surplus produced. This new regulations and geographic location makes Mexico one of the best places in the world to install solar photovoltaic systems.
